Durban North/Umhlanga CPF launch website to combat crime
Chairman of the Durban North/Umhlanga, Haden Searles, said the website is an invaluable tool to bring the community together.
The Durban North/Umhlanga Community Policing Forum (CPF) on Wednesday announced the launch of its official website.
Established in partnership with members of the CPF and the Durban North SAPS, the platform aims to give residents information on the CPF’s duties; tips to avoid becoming a victim of crime and being vigilant, as well as showing a listing of emergency numbers pertinent to the area.
Chairman of the Durban North/Umhlanga CPF, Haden Searles, said the website was an invaluable tool in bringing the community together.

“The site will be updated as the week goes on with more information but I think it’s a fantastic tool. The website also provides a more detailed breakdown of the different sectors and which neighbourhood watches are active in that area.
“Having used it myself, I find it easy to navigate around so it is extremely user friendly. I’m proud of the members who helped put it together which they did out of their own initiative. I do feel technology is the way to go in raising awareness and combating crime. I encourage residents to make use of the website especially in the lead up to the festive season,” he said.
