Durban municipality awaits KZN premier’s announcement on reopening of public libraries
The due date for all books has been extended to the end of August.
THE date for the reopening of public libraries in the city of Durban is yet to be set, according to a municipal spokesperson.
According to municipality’s Twitter account, the city is waiting for information from the provincial legislature as to when they are expected to reopen.

Thank you for getting in touch, please note libraries and museums are closed till Province indicate when public libraries are going to open to the public. We still need to follow national and provincial directives as per the regulations.

“Kindly note that libraries are still closed,” said Thobela Ngidi of eThekwini Municipality’s Libraries Department.
“An email will be sent to all members as soon as the date of opening has been announced,” said Ngidi.
According to Ngidi, the due date for all books has been extended.
“Please note that if you have library books with you/at home, such books have now been renewed to 31 August, you do not have to call to renew them,” Ngidi reassured.
