Man shot dead in Cornubia

The man, who has not been identified, was found with two pistols tucked into his belt.

AN unidentified man was killed in Cornubia outside a shopping mall at about 4.15 pm on Wednesday.

During the shooting, a shopper managed to flag down a member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on the corner Allamanda and Tecoma Road.

RUSA spokesperson, Prem Balram said the officer rushed to the scene.

“The reaction officer responded swiftly and found an unknown male bleeding profusely from gunshot wounds to his body. Two pistols were found tucked into his belt. Paramedics were despatched to the scene and declared the man deceased upon arrival,” said Balram.

“According to a witness, two armed suspects opened fire on the victim and fled in an awaiting vehicle,” he added.
