Armed men rob La Lucia resident

The robbery occurred just after 6am on Friday.

DURBAN North police are searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery of a La Lucia resident on Braemar Avenue on Friday morning.

According to Marshall Security’s spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred at about 6.20am.

“Three suspects, who were all armed, confronted the homeowner in his yard and held him up at gunpoint. They took his cell phone, wallet and a laptop before fleeing the scene. One of our armed response officers on a routine patrol was stopped by the victim while driving past. It is unknown if the suspects fled on foot or in a getaway vehicle,” he said.

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, confirmed a case of robbery with a firearm was opened.

He added that police are searching for the suspects but confirmed no arrests had yet been made.
