Golden rings found at Bronze Beach

Marianne Barnard even contacted her insurance broker to find out if anyone had claimed for the missing rings.

UMHLANGA resident, Marianne Barnard hopes to return what she thinks is a set of wedding rings to the owners. She found the rings on Tuesday, 7 January while enjoying a visit to Bronze beach.

“As I put my phone down next to my towel, I saw something. I first thought it was a little wire tab, but with closer scrutiny, it was a gold wedding band. I could not believe it when a few minutes later, as I lay down, I saw another similar shiny piece. As I picked it up and turned it around, I noticed it had a diamond. It was a perfect match to the wedding band I picked up earlier. Obviously a wedding band set,” she said.

Barnard found another ring when she was packing up to go home.

“This time it was another wedding band, a little broader,” she said.

The do-gooder hopes to return the rings personally to the owner.

“If anyone knows of family or friends who lost precious rings when they went to the beach, perhaps on vacation here in uMhlanga, please email me via marianne.barnard777@gmail.com,” she said.

Barnard has even contacted her insurance broker to find out if anyone has claimed for the missing rings.
