Prestondale resident stabbed in house robbery

A PRESTONDALE resident was stabbed twice in an armed home invasion in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 1.50am on Woodlands Close.

“The homeowner and his wife were asleep when they were accosted by three men all armed with knives. One of the suspects then removed the wife’s engagement ring from her ring finger. During this time the homeowner began fighting off the other two suspects. He sprayed an aerosol can into the face of one of the suspects who then stabbed the resident in his upper arm and upper thigh.

“The suspects made off with several items including an iPhone 7, the engagement ring, three Global knives which were taken from the home and the keys for the homeowner’s vehicle. At this point no arrests have been made and we are still looking for the suspects involved,” he said.

There has been a number of incidents of armed robbery with the last incident occurring more than a week ago.

In that incident, the family confined themselves to their bedroom as three suspects entered their Earlswood Place home made off with a number of items.
