Miss and Mr uMhlanga pageant is around the corner

Entry is R200 cash and an unwrapped toy in support of charities who work together with uMhlanga Rotary.

THE 11th Miss and Mr uMhlanga Beauty Pageant will take place at noon on Saturday, 21 December 2019 at the Millennium Stage on uMhlanga beach. The pageant is one of the highlights of the uMhlanga Summer Festival programme. The theme for this year’s festival is Colours of Africa: Embracing all that is Beautiful. Co-ordinating the pageant this year are Kevin Ellis and Gareth Greaves.

Cash prizes to the value of R18 000 are up for grabs and the successful finalists will be crowned on the day with bespoke, tiaras, sashes and medals – all hand made by Gareth Greaves.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Ellis said: “We are looking for new faces – men and women. We are welcoming newcomers to the industry as we will have model scouts among the judges looking for future talent. If you are an aspiring model, this is an excellent platform to get fantastic exposure and a great way to get discovered. No experience is needed.”

Participants can enter before-hand, and on the day itself subject to availability. Registration on the day is from 10.30am until 11.30am and the pageant will be on stage from noon until 2pm featuring a bevy of the best men and women ambassadors with potential to represent uMhlanga.
