Kuhle crowned Mr Ambassador KZN Charity King

Mr Tiny Ambassador handed over 50 Pink Ribbons at the Pick 'n Pay store in uMhlanga as a reminder for breast cancer check ups.

UMHLANGA resident, Kuhlekwethu Lushaba won all three titles at this year’s Miss, Mr and Mrs KZN Ambassador which took place at the uMhlali Country Club.

The titles were, Mr Tiny Ambassador Photogenic, Mr Tiny Ambassador Overall Public Choice and the main title being Mr Ambassador KZN Charity King for this year. The Ambassador Programme is aimed at giving youth the opportunity to encourage and empower those around them and help make their dreams come true

For this year, the finalists were judged upon their introduction speech, their dress style and their community project participation. Social media also played a role in the judgement for the finalist since the contestants were also judged by the number of likes they have received on Facebook.

Kuhlekwethu fell in the four to eight year age group where he walked away with all three categories. All these segments were meant to showcase both the beauty and the brains of the contestants.

Speaking about the adventure Lushaba said the experience was great, especially the community project task that was given to them to test their capabilities.

“Since the event was hosted in October I decided to do a breast cancer awareness campaign as part of my community project. With the help of my sister we were out and about at the uMhlanga Granada Square Night Market place spreading the word about the breast cancer screenings. We handed over 50 packets of sweets which had pink ribbons on them as a gesture to appeal to all women to gets screened for the month of October,” he said.

The five-year-old said his role model was his sister Siphosami Lushaba (14) who also happens to be a model.

“My sister and I always have a session where she teaches me how to pose and answer some of the questions I might be asked by the judges. I prepare my speeches with chooses which outfit that will suits me best,” said Kuhle with a big smile.
