LISTEN: Durban mural inspired by Springboks triumph

The mural, which has a portrait of the skipper, also shows a Springbok, the William Webb Ellis Trophy and the hashtag stronger together.

THERE was a huge outpouring of support for four Durban artists on Sunday as they put up the newest mural on Problem Mkhize Road (Cowey Road).

Mook Lion, Dane Stops, Giffy Duminy and Ewok were all part of the collaborative effort inspired by Siya Kolisi and the Springbok rugby team’s triumph over England in the Rugby World Cup final on Saturday.

The mural, which has a portrait of the skipper, also shows a Springbok, the William Webb Ellis Trophy and the hashtag stronger together.

Residents stopped and took photos of the awe-inspiring mural which geed up the artists even more.

Local artist, Giffy Duminy, also explained his involvement in the project saying he was pleased with the final outcome.

“The feedback and the people stopping, taking photos and honking their car horns in support was super special as well,” he said.
