Health department warns job seekers of scam

A fake advert has been circulating on social media.

AN advert for a nurse training programme that is doing the rounds on social media has been rejected by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. While the department does offer an annual Nurse Training Programme, it has not yet issued an invitation for people to submit their credentials.

In a Facebook post, the department issued a stern warning to job seekers.

“It is a fabricated advert that seeks to disseminate information that is untruthful and misleading about the recruitment process for the department’s Nurse Training Programme,” read the post.

The application process is outlined on the department’s website which states that an advertisement for the post will appear in local newspapers, at local hospitals and clinics and on the department’s website once a year. Requirements of the training programme will be stipulated in the advertisement and the selection of candidates is district-based.
