Suspect nabbed with stolen tools

A description of the suspect was distributed to all response vehicles in the area.

A SUSPECT fled with stolen tools after breaking into a Fairway resident’s workshop this afternoon, but quick response action led to a swift arrest.

Spokesperson for Marshall Security, Kyle Van Reenen said a description of the suspect was quickly distributed to all vehicles in the area.

“A male suspect matching the description was spotted by members of our special operations team, on the north bound carriageway of the M4 highway. The man was found in possession of the tools confirmed to have been stolen from the residence in Fairways Drive. The suspect was arrested and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing,” he said.

The  homeowner reported the incident at 1pm just after he saw the suspect on his property.

“Our emergency contact center liaised further with the caller who advised that the suspect had stolen tools and fled on foot in the direction of the M4 Ruth First Highway,” said Van Reenen.

The suspect forced entry into the workshop through the roof.
