Basson died after battling with failing health at a retirement village in Johannesburg.

BELOVED Egoli actress Christine Basson has died at age 78. Christine was best known for her role as Nora Naude in the M-Net soapie.

According to online reports, Basson died after apparently battling with failing health at a high-care unit at the Ekklesiapark retirement village in Johannesburg.

Her close friend, writer Reinet Louw Kemp expressed her condolences on a Facebook post on Monday morning.
