Housebreaking suspects nabbed in Redhill

The men were arrested after they fled from reaction officers.

TWO men have been linked to various housebreakings in the Redhill area, after they were arrested on Friday morning.

The arrest comes after the suspects were spotted by two Marshall Security response officers walking along Belvedere Road with scrap metal that looked to be stripped from an air conditioner, said the security company’s spokesman, Kyle van Reenen.

When the response officers tried to stop the men to question them they fled, but were quickly arrested.

Police were called to the scene, and when the suspects were searched they were found to be in possession of a knife as well as other housebreaking implements, said Van Reenen.

“Further investigations then link the suspects to numerous other cases,” he added.

In one instance, video footage was obtained which showed the suspects stealing garden furniture at another home in the area.
