Session to learn more about drugs in Durban
Organisers will be creating a space for further story telling, discussion and engagement around stories and issues related to drug use in the city.
ANYONE interested in knowing more about the complex and often misunderstood story of drug use in the city of Durban is encouraged to attend an immersion experience at the Urban Futures Centre at Durban University of Technology (DUT) on Tuesday, 2 April from 6pm to 8pm.
The immersion sessions follows a successful STORY Session where criminologist Prof Monique Marks spoke about the use of drugs in the city of Durban.
STORY Sessions is a live free public event that brings people together to share stories of intent and purpose. Their goal is to enable listeners to become intentional about living out their authentic selves in their own story.
Prof Marks is known as one of the most expert people in Durban working on the subject of drugs and is a close partner of the Denis Hurley Centre who will host the ‘immersion session’.

The session will be held in collaboration with Lungelo Luthuli, as well as other beneficiaries of OST (Opioid Substitution Therapy), where they will be creating space for further story telling, discussion and engagement regarding OST, as well as other stories and issues related to drug use in our city.
The cost of this engagement R120 and will include a meal.
Prof Marks is also a member of the Task Team on Homelessness, and a patron of the Napier Centre for Healing.
