Be a ‘Feel Good’ funder

Founded last year, Feel Good Funding's mission is to make the world a better place especially for animals.

A LOCAL organisation is calling for your help to ensure a better life for animals. Founded last year, Feel Good Funding’s mission is to make the world a better place especially for animals. The organisation does this by helping various private animal rescue organisations in Durban.

Feel Good Funding founder, Rennie Meredith said they realised that even though the number of private animal rescue organisations was increasing,  most of them are in need of funding.

“Due to the overwhelming number of pets needing to be re-homed and outreach work being done in the more disadvantaged communities there has been an increase in private animal welfare organisations being formed, their most pressing need is always assistance with veterinary bills, foster homes, kenneling and food,” she said.

To aid these organisations Feel Good Funding has held various fundraising events.

“One of our successful campaigns was the sterilisation day in conjunction with community service vets held at a North Coast rescue organisation’s premises. We sterilised 28 of the nearby township dogs, they were also inoculated and de-wormed. Each dog went home with food and blankets. This is an on-going initiative and more spay days are being arranged in other areas,” said Meredith.

Last year the organisation collected Christmas Lunch Boxes for the dogs in the Driefontein community. This year the organisation aims to spread its wings by including the Buffelsdraai and Redcliffe communities and to assist Rainbow Warriors in Hibberdene, in the South Coast. They have partnered with various Food Lovers Market in the area where they have placed donation collecting trolleys.

The organisation is appealing for two litre ice-cream containers with lids, dog pellets, Beeno biscuits and gravy sachets. These can be dropped off at Food Lovers Market outlets in Ballito, The Pearls Mall, La Lucia Mall, Rinaldo Road, Westville and Scottsburgh.
