Family tied up for three hours in Ryde Place robbery

The suspects are thought to have used duct tape during the terrifying ordeal.

A RYDE Place family was tied up in an armed robbery which occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning. According to Greenwood Park police, the family was reportedly tied-up for almost three hours.

It is believed the suspects entered through the roof at about 1am, while the family was asleep. The suspects then held up the homeowner and his wife along with their two children.

“Three suspects tied the family up and made off with a number of items. It is unclear whether they escaped on foot or into an awaiting getaway vehicle,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios.

The suspects fled with televisions, three cell phones and jewellery.

The family was only able to untie themselves almost three hours later and pressed the panic alarm.

Chairman of the Greenwood Park CPF, Robin Candy, confirmed the incident had occurred.

“It is deeply concerning that there has been a spike in the area of late and particular with this incident where the family were tied-up. We are working with the police to bring the perpetrators to book and we are urging residents to report any crime,” he said.
