5 armed men storm La Lucia home

One of the robbers stood guard while his accomplices ransacked the house.

HOURS after five armed men stormed a complex in La Lucia, holding up the homeowner and a general worker on the property, the car they stole was recovered in an open veld in Inanda.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle Van Reenen the incident occurred at about 6am today (10 April) in Churchill Road.

“Five suspects armed with a firearm, forcefully entered the property. The homeowner who was at home at the time, was confined to a room and tied up along with his staff member.”

One of the robbers stood guard while his accomplices ransacked the home, stealing flat screen televisions, laptops and jewellery, before making off in the homeowner’s vehicle, a silver Grey Nissan Duke.

The suspects remain at large and the matter has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

The armed robbery comes four days after criminal lawyer, Thamsanqa Ndwandwe was gunned down outside his La Lucia home. The 46-year-old had been shot eight times in driveway.
