Two arrested after hijackers crash stolen vehicle

The suspects held up and assaulted the owner of the vehicle during the hijacking.

TWO men were arrested after a high-speed chase led to a crash on Prince Umhlangane Road on Sunday. According to Tyron Powell of Marshall Security, the suspects, had crashed the hijacked vehicle, a dark blue Toyota Corolla and had attempted to flee on foot.

“The victim was hijacked in Tyne Avenue. The suspects held up and assaulted the owner of the vehicle with a firearm before speeding off. Our officers spotted the suspects on North Coast Road and a high-speed chase ensued.

“After crashing the vehicle, the suspects attempted to flee on foot and were caught in a nearby bush. No weapons were found on the men and a case has been opened at Greenwood Park police station,” he said.
