DURBAN North SAPS have arrested a man in his 40s for the sexual assault and rape of a teenager. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, the 16-year-old boy has been taken to a place of safety.
“The youngster, who is from the Eastern Cape, had some trouble back home and had fallen on to tough times which forced him to live on the street. He then befriended a man who lived in the bushes near Virginia Beach. They had been living together for many years. When one of the officers based at the station spotted the boy in the area and spoke to him, she realised what had happened.

“Sadly it was revealed the man had been sexually assaulting and raping the boy for several years. We have opened a case and have arrested the man who will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court next week. The teenager has been taken to a place of safety,” he said.
