“Our officers were patrolling the area near Glen Anil Street when they spotted a VW Polo. They checked the registration which did not match the make of the vehicle. When our officers attempted to pull the car over, the suspects pulled out a weapon and fearing for their lives, the officers shot at the vehicle’s tyres attempting to stop it. After a high speed chase in the area the suspects abandoned the vehicle on the corner of Pigeonwood Close and Glen Anil Street.

“Police managed to arrest one of the suspects and after searching the vehicle found several car break-in implements. We are still searching for the remaining suspects who are still on the loose. We commend the members involved in the successful arrest and this sends out a stern message to any criminals operating within our precinct,” he said.
