Swing into baseball season with Rockets

Pre-season training commences on 2 November (thereafter every Thursday) from 5.15pm to 6.15pm at Crusaders Sports Club.

THE new Rockets Baseball Club summer season begins in November. The Rockets are looking for kids, both boys and girls, aged 4-10 years old to come along and be part of a very successful club.

Very simply put, tee-ball, which is played by the U10 age group, is a sport based on a modification of baseball where there is no pitching, the ball is placed on an adjustable tee at home plate at a height suitable for the batter and the diamond is 2/3 of the senior size.

The game is limited to one hour and an innings is over once all nine batters have batted and fielded. The game provides a lot of fun, with the opportunity to develop baseball skills, hand-eye coordination and general confidence, as well as one hour of fast moving exciting fun.

In tee-ball, the league de-emphasizes competitiveness, and focuses mainly on the development of fundamental baseball skills. Much of the season will be dedicated to learning the rules of baseball and the fundamentals of fielding, throwing, and hitting while having a great time.

Rockets have highly experienced coaches in ex South African player Dion Desaunois (Head Coach) and a number of other EX KZN Baseball players.

Pre-season training commences on 2 November (thereafter every Thursday) from 5.15pm to 6.15pm at Crusaders Sports Club.

For more information please contact Dion Desaunois on diondes@yahoo.com or 082 965 3167.
