High seas damage uMhlanga promenade
The South African Weather Service said the sea swells were as high as six metres.

UMHLANGA’S popular promenade took a pelting yesterday (24 August). According to the South African Weather Service the sea swells reached up to six-metre across the coast from PE to Durban.
Local resident, Lupi Ciaglia snapped a shot of the damaged promenade directly outside The Oyster Box. By Friday afternoon at 1pm the promenade was still covered in sea sand. Earlier this year a video of a storm pummeling uMhlanga’s promenade surfaced.

The video which was were filmed by uMhlanga resident, Sharon van Straaten, showed the waves crashing into the steps of the promenade.
