Fence hopper terrorises Clarendon community

Residents in and around Edgeley Road have been urged to keep an eye out for a notorious fence hopper.

THE Clarendon Road Neighbourhood Watch in Durban North has appealed to residents to keep an eye out for a fence hopper who has been terrorising the community in recent weeks.
According to Denise Masson, the watch chairperson, it is believed that the suspect has been living in a vacant property in the area.
During a recent patrol at the property there were signs of someone camping in the back cottage, she said.
“Fortunately the owner has promised to secure the property. We urge all residents with vacant properties to do the same and also to alert their neighbours, so that we can keep an eye out for each other,” she said.
Residents are also urged to report such incidents to the Greenwood Park SAPS.
Residents on both Edgeley and Eastview Road have reported witnessing the fence hopper dashing through their properties.
Contact Denise on 083 779 1238 or Greenwood Park SAPS on 031 571 6512.
