Thieves break into Greenwood Park Day Care Centre

There have been three break-ins in the North Durban areas since Friday as well as three armed robberies.

IT was an inauspicious return to school for teachers at a Greenwood Park Day Care Centre after an unknown amount of suspects broke into the building just after 6pm on Sunday evening. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the suspects damaged the front before gaining access to the building.

The incident follows on the heels of three armed robberies and two break-ins, one on Midsomer Crescent in Somerset Park and another on Workington Road.

“It seems the suspects jumped over the front fence and entered the property. They then forced the front door open before entering the main building. The men stole a kettle before running away. In the incident in Somerset Park the suspects de-railed the driveway gate before damaging the front door. A number of items were taken by the gang. A case has been opened by the Durban North SAPS,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.
