THE N2 going south just before Spaghetti Junction has been closed after a horrific accident on Saturday morning. It is understood a taxi collided with a truck, which had allegedly left the scene. According to Rescue Care spokesman, Garrith Jamieson, four people were killed while 14 others were injured in the fatal crash.
The freeway had to be closed to allow a helicopter to land to airlift a critically injured patient.
“Three women and one man were killed in the accident while 14 others were injured. Three patients were entrapped in the wreckage. SAPS Search and Rescue and Durban Fire are working to free the entrapped passengers. A helicopter had to land for a critically injured patient,” he said.
Traffic is still severely affected on the N2 going south.
