Man tied-up in Glenashley robbery

The victim was left traumatised in the home invasion.

A GLENASHLEY homeowner was tied up by two men who ransacked his home on Ypsilanti Avenue in the early hours of Thursday morning. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred at about 3.30am.

“Two suspects derailed the gate before entering the home. The homeowner heard a noise and came out to investigate. They overpowered him and tied him up before stealing various items from the home. He could not see any weapons on them. A third suspect, was waiting in the getaway vehicle, a Toyota, of an unknown registration, parked outside the home.

“We believe the vehicle has been used in various crimes in the north Durban area. The homeowner was left traumatised by the incident and Durban North/Umhlanga Crisis Medical Team (DNUCT) were on scene to counsel the man. The suspects are still at large,” he said.
