A LOCAL resident got the shock of her life on Monday when she stumbled on a foetus. According to Constable Zenzele Chonco, the foetus was discovered in a black plastic bag on Courtown Crescent, Avoca Hills. She told police she was walking home from the shop when she spotted the packet and inspected its contents.
“The resident saw the foetus lying partially out of the bag, on the road. At this stage we believe the heavy rains washed the bag into the street,” he said.
Chonco noted that Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on the scene at 8:45am shortly after the person who discovered the body about 15 minutes earlier at 8:30am, reported it to a local police officer.
He added that an inquest had been opened by Greenwood Park SAPS into the matter and any person with information can call 031 560 8090.
