A 50-year-old man was stabbed along the busy N2 freeway yesterday. Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesperson said the incident occurred at around 1pm. “A Netcare 911 rescue officer was travelling along the N2 just past the M25 when he was flagged down by a security officer to help a man in his 50s who was stabbed.”

Botha added that the officers said they noticed an elderly man walking along the highway when a man came running out of the bush and stabbed the pedestrian.
Paramedics stabilised the critically wounded man at the scene and then transported him to hospital.
