Man killed in M4 La Lucia collision
The pedestrian, is thought to be a vagrant who lived near the La Lucia taxi rank.
A 36-YEAR-OLD man has been killed after being struck on the M4 (going north) near the La Lucia off-ramp. According to Chris Botha of Netcare 911, the pedestrian was trying to cross the road when the incident occurred.
“The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and tragically died on scene. The driver of the vehicle suffered cuts to his hand but escaped serious injury. The road has been closed to allow rescue personnel and paramedics time to clear the roadway,” he said.
According to police on scene, the pedestrian, was a well-known vagrant in the area that used to frequent the La Lucia taxi rank.
