Criminals target businesses over Easter weekend
Criminals break into businesses just hours apart on Easter Sunday.
SEVERAL businesses in the North Durban area were targeted this weekend by criminals. Marshall Security responded to two business break-ins, an attempted business break-in and a burglary at a rugby club’s club house, where a large amount of booze was stolen.
Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, said three business break-ins had occurred on Columbine Place (Glen Anil) and Riverhorse Close.
“In the incident in Riverhorse Valley, two businesses next to each other were broken into at about 6am on Sunday. The suspects used a crowbar to gain access to the businesses and stole several computers. The security guard on patrol chased the suspects with the help of a guard dog and they were seen fleeing in a white Polo Vivo.
“In the incident in Glen Anil, the thieves derailed the driveway gate and stole a number of plumbing equipment. In the incident of a break-in at a rugby club house on Jaco Jackson Road, the suspects gained access into the premises via the side window before stealing a large amount of alcohol,” he said.
