Caravan, several cars and home damaged in Durban North fire

The explosion was caused by the gas cylinders in the caravan.

A CARAVAN as well as several cars and a neighbouring property were damaged after a fire on Inverness Crescent in Durban North this morning. According to Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios, the homeowner saw flames coming out the garage door.

No injuries have been reported and the Durban North fire station is still investigating the cause of the blaze. Some residents reported hearing explosions in the area.

“Members of Blue Security responded to premises to assist put out fire, however, the fire grew rapidly burning the caravans and other luxurevehicles in the garage. The fire spread rapidly to a neighbour’s property which was also damaged due to explosions of gas bottles and petrol tanks.
