WATCH: Angry marchers walk peacefully through Durban beach front

Since 9am this morning the crowd has however swelled substantially.

A VOCAL crowd of civic society members and Democratic Alliance members have begun proceeding along the promenade.

Chants of Zuma must fall have rung around the partisan crowd who are in good spirits. The crowd chanting the fall of the country’s president has grown to more than 1500.

When the Northglen News arrived at the scene of what is expected to one of the biggest marches in the country’s history, hundreds of people were present. Since 9am this morning the crowd has however swelled substantially. The people are calling for an end to Jacob Zuma’s seat as president of South Africa.

John Steenhuisen, chief whip of the Democratic Alliance, is yet to address the crowd, many of who are carrying signs and placards voicing their unhappiness with the state of the country.

Marchers have gathered at the Durban circus site and are marching to the Amphitheatre Park along the beach-front. The march comes just days after the President Zuma axed the much-loved minister of Finance, Pravin Gordhan.
