Cyclist injured after North Coast Road hit-and-run

The 33-year-old was hit from behind.

A CYCLIST has been injured after an alleged hit-and-run at the intersection of North Coast Road and Blackburn Road. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the 33-year-old man was treated on scene. The incident occurred just after 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

“The cyclist was struck from behind by a motorist who then drove off in an alleged hit-and-run. He was treated by Marshall Security and Crisis Medical. He sustained moderate injuries and has been taken through to a local hospital for further care,” van Reenen said.

Last year, two cyclists were killed in a horrific accident on the M4 after being hit by an alleged drunk driver. A week later, another cyclist was hit by a vehicle on NMR Avenue.
