Another drug dealer taken off the streets

The arrest of the drug dealer came from a tip-off by someone in the community.

A MAN was arrested on Friday, 3 March for dealing in drugs by Greenwood Park SAPS members. According to the station’s spokesperson, W/O Leon Audh, they confiscated 48 pieces of heroin/cocaine along with other hard drugs in the raid.
This bust adds to the station’s overall tally of 20 grams of cocaine, 121 grams of heroin, 2 710 grams of dagga and 41 grams of whoonga that they have taken off the streets since January this year.
The officers caught the drug dealer while on a routine patrol of the area. They received a tip-off from a person in the community about someone suspected of dealing drugs in Sea Cow Lake.
The police carried out surveillance of the place where man was suspected of dealing from for three hours before making their move. They approached the drug den, arrested the dealer, and found narcotics on the him and close by.
W/O Audh said, “We would like to extend our gratitude to the community for assisting us with information that is beneficial to one and all. It is only through trust and partnership that we can make a difference.”
Last week, Greenwood Park SAPS apprehended two men in separate operations in connection with drug dealing. From one of the raids they found drug-laced cigarettes that were allegedly being sold to school children for R5 each.
