Massive music imbizo coming up

THE KZN Music Imbizo will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium from Thursday, 31 August until Saturday, 2 September from 9am to 6pm on each day. The Imbizo is becoming an international platform with interest from all over Africa and Europe and there will be 50 stands available for SMMEs, corporates and government departments at the fast growing international music business conference and exhibition. What started as a provincial platform for sharing ideas about growing the music industry within KwaZulu-Natal is now becoming an important platform in the continent.

The 2016 installation hosted over 10 countries plus numerous top level decision makers in the global music industry. 2017 is going to maintain and improve the quality of speakers and also place emphasis on the performances during the three-day conference. As usual, the KZN Music Imbizo will host panel discussions, exhibitions, an equipment demo, showcases, music producer forum, speed meetings plus film screenings. In addition, a new format for introducing new music (listening sessions) and music video pitches will be introduced this year.

This will be a very interesting space, a good place for music compilers and music video schedulers to discover new talent and visuals. The theme for the KZN Music Imbizo 2017 is the The Digital Future. Over the years, the KZN Music Imbizo has hosted a number of industry organisations and companies at the exhibition. The KZN Music Imbizo’s vision is to contribute to the creation of a highly organised, sustainable and successful music industry within the continent, where practitioners are knowledgeable with a world-view of the ins and outs of the music business.
