Jarod goes the extra mile for charity

Reddam House Umhlanga learner dedicates his mile to Cancer charity.

REDDAM House Umhlanga Grade 7 learner, Jarod Pretorius, recently raised R9 025 for Rainbows and Smiles after dedicating his Midmar Mile to the charity.

The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child (or children) of that family is diagnosed with cancer.

“So many people were dedicating their Midmar Miles to CHOC, so I decided to try and raise funds for a different charity. My mom told me about Rainbows and Smiles and I wanted to give back as much as I could. I’m very proud about raising R9 025 and for me it was about raising awareness for childhood cancer and most importantly doing the race for the memories of the children affected by this terrible disease,” he said.
