Retracting WhatsApp messages could be a possibility

This feature means you can delete or revise a message even after a recipient has technically received it.

EVER wished you could have retracted a message on WhatsApp? You may be able to do just that as the messaging service is reportedly conducting tests to check the ability to edit or recall messages that have already been sent. This feature means you can delete or revise a message even after a recipient has technically received it.

According to an article posted on the Mashable website, this will only work if the recipient has not read the message yet. On this social media platform, if a message is read, there are two blue tick marks and the feature will not work, however, if the message has been delivered but not read — with grey tick marks, the feature will work. “The feature is currently being tested in the beta versions of WhatsApp on Android and iOS. The update adds “revoke” and “edit” options for messages that have not yet been viewed. From the screenshots, it seems like the message is replaced with “Sender revoked the message” — so your friends will know you’re keeping something from them,” the article read.

It has also been reported that WhatsApp is testing a feature similar to Snapchat’s ‘Stories.’ With this feature, users can add a picture with a caption or doodle that disappears after a day.

It was also stated in the article: “The features are still in beta testing so there is no guarantee when or if they will be more widely available.”
