Dedicate your race to the Sunflower Fund

Do the Midmar Mile, Dusi Canoe Marathon or the Comrades Marathon in 2017 to raise funds to boost the SA Bone Marrow Registry.

IF you’re participating in the Midmar Mile, Dusi Canoe Marathon or the Comrades Marathon in 2017, the Sunflower Fund needs you.

Stephanie Berry, regional manager for The Sunflower Fund in KwaZulu-Natal said: “The Sunflower Fund Durban is appealing to local athletes to be the hope for patients awaiting stem cell transplants and turn your amazing effort into something even more spectacular – helping to raise funds to add prospective donors to the South African Bone Marrow Registry. Become a 2017 Miles4Marrow fundraising and awareness campaign champion today and help us to win the race of life for our patients.”

Miles4Marrow gives athletes the opportunity to do what they love, while showing their support for a great cause – and raising funds in the process.

Participating athletes are responsible for approaching their personal and professional networks to sponsor them per ‘mile’ (or kilometre, if you work on the metric system) covered and no contribution is too small.

All funds raised will go towards increasing the South African Bone Marrow Registry, to give hope to patients diagnosed with life-threatening blood disorders who are searching for their 1 in 100 000 donor match.

If you or your club would like to participate in the 2017 Miles4Marrow campaign, contact Tanith King on 031 266 1148 or email tanith@sunflowerfund.org.za.
