Ballito martial artists triumph at KZN’s first provincial championship

The event included the martial arts disciplines of karate, taekwondo and kickboxing, among others.

The Ballito Martial Arts Academy recently claimed team victory at KwaZulu-Natal’s first provincial martial arts championship.

Facing off against 10 other clubs from across the province at the Tongaat Sports Centre on March 22, the Ballito team showed their class to claim the inaugural honours.

The competition brought together various martial arts styles, including taekwondo, karate, kickboxing and more, ensuring every athlete had the chance to shine in their chosen speciality.

“Our students delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating discipline, skill and true martial spirit. It was a wonderful event and an unforgettable experience for everyone involved,” said Sabumnim Linda Smit.

“We look forward to many more opportunities to share and grow through martial arts, alongside other passionate and talented styles.”

Smit thanked the organisers and event staff for their support.
