Five talented martial artists recently dominated a national competition in Pretoria, winning 12 gold medals and six silvers between them.
Ben and Matthew Clay, Lily-Rae Faulds, Dominic Judge and Nathan Diedrechsen all competed at the Gauteng South African Korean Martial Arts provincial on March 8.
Representing the Ballito Martial Arts Masters Academy under the umbrella of the Global Taekwondo Federation (GTF), the young athletes tore through the competition.
The medals were split between Ben (four gold), Matthew (three gold), Lily-Rae (three gold, one silver), Dominic (two gold, two silver) and Nathan (three silver).
“We are super proud of them for proving their excellence on the mats,” said GTF KZN president, sabumnim Linda Smit.
“Our athletes have proven that with strong technique, you can truly stand out in Taekwondo – both in skill and performance.”
