Seventy athletes brave Hybrid Heroes Challenge at Sugar Rush Park

The Hybrid Heroes series will move forward with three more events in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and KwaZulu-Natal, culminating in the national finals in Johannesburg on September 29, where athletes will vie for the Ultimate Hybrid Hero title.

Seventy tough athletes tackled the challenging Hybrid Heroes event at Sugar Rush Park on Sunday.

It was a case of no pain no gain as competitors had to negotiate 12 gruelling disciplines, each separated by a 500m running track.

The tough hot weather conditions further tested participants’ resilience and determination but all except one entrant reached the finishing line.
