Ballito angler lands catch of a lifetime

Wayne Duncan camped out on the Crocodile River in pursuit of his dream catch.

Some fishermen have a “whale of a tale” for every catch, but Ballito resident Wayne Duncan has no need to exaggerate this whopper.

He recently reeled in the fish of a lifetime, securing his legitimate bragging rights.

The seasoned angler has been chasing his dream of catching a common carp of over 20kg for years and managed not one, but two last week.

To accomplish the feat, Wayne took his boat to an undisclosed location on the Crocodile River in the North West.

“I actually camped on my boat, anchored it and slept on it, staying day and night in the cold,” he said.

“I caught many fish and eventually managed to get two over 20kg – the absolute catches of a lifetime.”
