Tough knock for Ballito Dolphins

The Dolphins took to the field with gusto but were quickly on the back foot against the Warriors' superior handling and coordination.

It was a tough day at the office for the Ballito Dolphins over the weekend.

The Dolphins went up against the South Coast Warriors at Sugar Rush Park on Saturday in sweltering heat. The second team took to the field first and managed a comprehensive win over their opponents, finishing off on 53-10.

The first team were not as convincing on the field though. The Warriors have just come down from the premier league, so they are the team to beat in the 2018 league.

The Dolphins took to the field with gusto but were quickly on the back foot against the Warriors’ superior handling and coordination.

The score at full time stood at 24-3 to the Warriors.

“The guys learnt that at this level if you make mistakes you pay dearly, we had seven knock ons in the first half and that cost us three tries,” said Dolphins chairman Kevin Murphy.

“We are disappointed but not disillusioned as three years ago this team was putting 60 past us before they went up to the premier league – and it is only the second game out of a 16 game season.

We will take away the positives and learn from our errors as our next home game is against last year’s runaway winners, Hillcrest Villagers, who went through last season unbeaten.

“There are no easy games in our league, that’s for sure!”
