#Letter: Grateful for committed Shakaskraal councillor

"He exemplifies the leadership characteristics of a councillor, meeting service delivery requirements" - Raymond Loggenberg.

Raymond Loggenberg of Shakaskraal writes:

I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to ward 28 councillor, Mr Govender (Shakaskraal), for the selfless time he gives to our community and effort he makes to ensure that during difficult times he rallies with the community to pull together and overcome the difficulties we’re faced with.

This was not only evident during Covid, the unrest and recent flood disaster, but also engaging the community in assisting the recent tornado affected community in Tongaat.

Not only has he spearheaded the introduction of security in our village to radically reduce crime, but he was also at the forefront of the construction of a new community hall to the benefit of all residents.

He has also ensured continuous road upgrades with working electrical infrastructure – changes I have personally witnessed during my 15 years living here.

He exemplifies the leadership characteristics of a councillor, meeting service delivery requirements.

Thank you, Sir, and may you continue with strength forward.
