#ReportBack: Additions to Ward 6

It comes down to logistics. Ideally, each ward should have a similar number of voters in it, in order for the actual voting processes to run smoothly.

October 27 has been pronounced as the date for local government elections.

In local government elections, you are only permitted to vote in the ward that you reside and are registered in.

Many people question the reasoning why there are changes to the ward boundaries.

It comes down to logistics. Ideally, each ward should have a similar number of voters in it, in order for the actual voting processes to run smoothly.

We should have 2 registration weekends in the lead up to elections, but this year there will only be one.

There have also been ward boundary changes and some voters will be affected.

Ward 6 (old Ballito) area has gained a few extra voters from Ward 22 (Salt Rock).

Ward 6 now includes Ipahla Lane, Shad Lane and Dolphin Crescent.

If you are new to the area, or know someone who has moved here and would like assistance in registering or checking where to register, please contact me at 082 894 7808 or tammycolley3@gmail.com.

This will avoid any possible frustration of being sent from voting station to voting station on election day.
