#ReportBack: Ready to tackle 2021 head-on

Docrra remains committed to support the community by sharing relevant information, and exerting the influence of the Dolphin Coast community on KDM in particular, but also all relevant community structures and organisations.

The Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers Association (Docrra) team is going to be monitoring the following important events in order to give feedback to both KDM and Dolphin Coast residents and ratepayers.

These include:

• KwaDukuza municipality (KDM) annual report for 2019/2020 – The delayed report is being tabled on Thursday, January 28 at 9am at a virtual council meeting and promises to be packed with audited information on the performance of the municipality.

• Half-yearly performance reports – The obligatory half-yearly performance reports on the current budget and departments always generates a lively series of sessions and interaction.

• Roads and Traffic Plan – The long-awaited plan for the area should soon be ready for stakeholder engagement and input.

• Revaluation of Properties – During February and March, the revaluation of properties will be made available and will require feedback from ratepayers. This is done every 4 to 5 years and will have a major impact on ratepayers over the next period.

• KDM Operational and Capital Budget for 2021/22 – Soon after the revaluation, the preparation of the new KDM Operational and Capital Budget for 2021/22 commences. This takes effect in July this year.

• Municipal elections – Sometime in early 2021 the new municipal elections will also be announced.

These events are over and above all the regular activities that Docrra attends to and the committee is standing ready to represent residents and ratepayers of the Dolphin Coast.

Docrra’s new membership year starts in March, and our AGM is scheduled for mid-May.
