#DJsRecords: Who will you serve?

Our background, the place and station of our birth, our parents and upbringing are the raw materials life gave us; but we choose what we will make of this wonderful gift of life, whether a masterpiece or a disaster.

“Our lives are fashioned by our choices. First we make choices; then our choices make us.” Anne Frank.

The following is particularly true in our present world circumstance with this current pandemic: “We have two choices: We can choose to be pessimistic, and give up and help ensure the worst will happen, or we can be optimistic and grasp the opportunities that surely exist, and maybe help make the world a better place.” Noam Chomsky.

Negative pessimistic choices always guarantee the worst undesirable outcome.

Conversely if we choose to retain a positive attitude and decide to grasp the opportunities that will come our way, we will more likely make the world a better place.

So, don’t allow the prevailing culture to dictate to you the choices you make, rather choose to retain a life of courage and integrity.

Our background, the place and station of our birth, our parents and upbringing are the raw materials life gave us; but we choose what we will make of this wonderful gift of life, whether a masterpiece or a disaster.

The quality of small decisions we make every day of our life, will determine what will become of us.

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” Carl Gustav Jung.

A man once asked Michelangelo about his statue of David.

The man inquired, “How did you create such a masterpiece from a rough chunk of marble?” Michelangelo responded, “I simply chose to chip away everything that didn’t look like David.”

We can make decisions to do those things that look like Jesus and to chip away from our lives anything that doesn’t measure up to His quality of life.

I thank God that He is committed to help us do this. This is the process that gives eternal meaning to the statement that we “are made in God’s image”. Ephesians 4:24.

God has given us all the divine right of choice. Our physical and emotional health is the result of the small wise choices we make every day of our lives.

At a crucial time in the history of his nation, the great leader Joshua, issued the following challenge: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, … as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.

Having clear priorities, based on values that reflect lasting and eternal consequences is helpful in making the best choices.
