#DJsRecords: God is the only security you need

God was in the security business, long before the creation of the security industry or the United Nations Security Council.

Security is a multi-million Rand industry.

Yet at home, real security is not found with burglar bars, razor wire and panic buttons.

“Until you cross the bridge of your insecurities, you can’t begin to explore your possibilities.” Tim Fargo.

Trust and confidence are created in a climate of security, and never in a culture of insecurity.

Yet any obsession with security, in this world can result in forfeiting all freedom.

An atmosphere that is fraught with fear and insecurity has power to paralyse the creative geniuses so that we are prevented from discovering exciting new ways to make the world a better place.

Obsession with security can cause us to surrender life’s golden opportunities for innovation.

“No amount of security is worth the suffering of a mediocre life, chained to a routine that has killed your dreams.” Maya Mendoza.

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature. Life is either a daring adventure with many inherent dangers, or it is nothing.” Adapted from Helen Keller.

It is the member of the Security Forces’ love for his or her nation, who is willing to sacrifice their safety and even, if need be, their lives to ensure the freedom we all appreciate.

This is what Jesus did for you and me. He stood in harm’s way, to provide us with the security we can now enjoy.

God was in the security business, long before the creation of the security industry or the United Nations Security Council.

He also is far more capable of providing us with a real sense of security.

Safety is very much a state of mind that is born in faith and trust in The Almighty God.

Nothing in the entire world has power to create a sense of security like the love of God.

God wants to provide a sense of security for us. Jesus said:

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:28-29.

David, the shepherd psalmist understood that he was under God’s protective custody. He said: “God will be your bodyguard to protect you.” Psalm 34:20.

Those who are learning to trust in the love of God, live with a sense of security. Yet, this sense of security is not an imprisoning factor, but a liberating one.
