#ReportBack: Have you visited the DOCRRA website?

Due to the challenges we all as residents and ratepayers experience in obtaining information relating to, amongst many things, ward roles and responsibilities and municipal by-laws, DOCRRA's goal is to have a well-resourced and information packed website.

Due to the challenges we all as residents and ratepayers experience in obtaining information relating to, amongst many things, ward roles and responsibilities and municipal by-laws, DOCRRA’s goal is to have a well-resourced and information packed website at www.docrra.co.za.

To this end, DOCRRA has already started posting very useful information which include the following:

· Don Forbes, a DOCRRA committee member who has vast experience and knowledge of municipal matters, has produced articles summarizing ‘Ward Councillor Roles’ and ‘Ward Committee Roles’. As a community we need to work with and through these committees to have a say in the affairs of KDM and these structures have a responsibility back to the community.

· DOCRRA has obtained copies of the KwaDukuza by-laws and made them available on the website. (32 of the bylaws)

· Rates information – rates policy and summary of rates and discounts.

· IDP, budget and SDF Information. Towards the end of 2019 the DOCRRA committee members attended several cluster meetings for the KDM IDP and budget. With the assistance of the DOCRRA relationships with KDM, copies of the ward meeting presentations and budgets, were obtained and posted on the website. We urge our members to access these and forward DOCRRA your comments and input on the budgets. It is with your feedback that DOCRRA can engage and influence, not only the current budget, but also the planning for the IDP and budget for 2020/2021.

· How to renew your motor vehicle licence.

· DOCRRA information and updates.

DOCRRA will continually expand our website with relevant information and engagement forums.

DOCRRA regularly shares information and uses its influence to ensure efficient management of the Dolphin Coast.

This is due to our active collaboration with key parties such as the KwaDukuza Municipality, the iLembe Municipality and all other government structures, SAPS, iLembe Chamber, UIP, and the Dolphin Coast Conservancy. This provides a platform for members to voice their concerns and opinions, and have access to these parties, where required.

The more community representation and support we have, the more influence we have.

We are pleased to announce that membership and payment is now available using Zapper – quick and easy.

Membership can also be done via our website www.docrra.co.za. The fee is R200 per household per annum.
