Could it be curry heaven, find out by popping into Miller’s Arms

After hearing a few locals rave about it I followed my nose to Millers' Arms Curry Cuisine.

A fairly new curry joint has popped up in Salt Rock next to Salt Café on Ocean Drive.

After hearing a few locals rave about it I followed my nose to Millers’ Arms Curry Cuisine.

Parking can be a problem on Ocean Drive during peak season or on weekends but we had no issues on the Saturday when we got our take away.

The place was spotless, which I really appreciate.

It is a very simple venue with a few seats, but take away is the main focus here.

The menu is massive which isn’t a problem for an establishment like this.

We ordered a selection of curries. I will start with the mutton.

The meat was tender, there was a good meat to gravy ratio, there were also enough gravy soakers (potatoes).

The potato is a very important part of a Durban curry! So the mutton curry was very good, although I have had better.

The next curry was a new one for me and something I haven’t seen a lot – a prawn and calamari curry.

Now prawn curry is nothing new but the addition of calamari was interesting.

The curry was more tomato-based than the mutton, which is normal for a fish-style curry.

The prawns and calamari were extremely tender without being mushy and had a good amount of heat.

It was very enjoyable.

The butter chicken was a disappointment.

It lacked richness and was a little bland for my taste.

The bean roti, however, finished the meal off on a high note.

I have a love-hate relationship with bean curry.

The reason being that if it is done right, it is one of my favourites, but if you do not take care to clean your beans it can be a very different dish.

Their’s was top class with awesome flavour and heat.

Theirs prices are good and the food enjoyable, so well worth another visit.
